The Magewell Pro Convert SDI TX is a compact, cost-effective standalone NDI encoder that converts a single 3G-SDI source into a Full NDI High Bandwidth stream on a standard Gigabit Ethernet network. Designed as an entry-level encoder in the Pro Convert family, it delivers the same FPGA-based signal quality, PoE power, PTZ camera control and tally light support as the flagship Plus models — without the loop-through or encode/decode switching those models carry — making it the right choice when a dedicated, fixed-direction SDI-to-NDI conversion point is all that is required.

- 3G-SDI to Full NDI Encoding: Converts a single SD/HD/3G-SDI input into a Full NDI High Bandwidth stream at up to 2048×1080 (DCI 2K) at 60fps — making any SDI camera, router output or monitor feed an immediately discoverable NDI source on your network.
- 16-Channel SDI Audio: Captures all 16 channels of SDI-embedded audio and transmits them as 16-channel NDI-embedded audio — preserving the full audio payload of broadcast SDI sources without downmixing or channel reduction.
- Flexible Output Resolution: Encodes at the native input resolution or any custom resolution — with output frame rates at full, half, third or quarter of the input frame rate. Useful for creating low-bandwidth NDI streams for preview or monitoring without additional hardware.
- FPGA Video Processing: Onboard FPGA handles deinterlacing, up/down scaling, frame rate conversion and aspect ratio adjustment — processing the SDI signal entirely in hardware with zero impact on any connected host CPU.
- PTZ Camera Control: Controls PTZ cameras over the network using VISCA, Visca UDP, Visca UDP2RS232, PELCO-P and PELCO-D protocols via the shared Mini-DIN 8 port — enabling NDI-based camera control without a separate PTZ controller or serial cable run.
- Tally Light Support: The Mini-DIN 8 port also carries programme and preview tally signals — with a tally light accessory included in the box. Connect directly to any PTZ camera tally input for on-camera tally indication.
- Long SDI Cable Support: Integrated cable equaliser supports 3G-SDI cable runs up to 180m (591ft) — enabling installation at SDI source locations where running a separate network cable is simpler than replacing an existing long SDI run.
- NDI 6.2 Support: Fully updated to NDI SDK 6.2 — ensuring compatibility with current NDI production systems, software and network infrastructure.
