USB Capture devices connect via USB 3.0 and are portable — ideal for laptops, mobile production and conferencing. Pro Capture devices are PCIe cards installed internally in a desktop or server, offering higher bandwidth, multi-channel capture and lower latency. Eco Capture uses an M.2 slot for embedded or compact applications.
Yes. Ultra Stream devices support NDI HX output in addition to RTMP, RTSP, SRT and other streaming protocols. NDI HX allows the stream to be received by any NDI-compatible device or software on the local network without additional hardware.
Yes. Pro Convert decoders support SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) as an input source in addition to NDI, RTMP and RTSP. SRT support is available via firmware — ensure your device is running the latest firmware from the Magewell downloads portal.
For networked devices (Ultra Stream, Ultra Encode, Pro Convert), firmware is updated via the device's web interface — navigate to the device IP address in a browser, go to System Settings and upload the firmware file. For PCIe/USB devices, firmware is updated through the Magewell driver/utility software. Full instructions are in each product's user manual available on the downloads page.
Pro Capture PCIe cards support a wide range of formats depending on the model, including SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 12G-SDI, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, 4K, UHD, HDR10, and analogue inputs on certain models. Refer to the individual product datasheet for exact format support.
Yes. Magewell provides a free SDK for Windows and Linux supporting USB Capture and Pro Capture devices. The SDK includes API documentation and sample code. Download from the Magewell Developer Portal.

Yes. Magewell provides a dedicated Plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro that enables direct capture from Magewell PCIe and USB devices within the Premiere timeline. The plugin is available as a free download from the Magewell downloads portal.
Yes, provided your laptop has a USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 port. USB 2.0 ports are not supported. Mac and Windows laptops are both supported — ensure you install the correct driver for your operating system. For 4K capture (USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus), USB 3.1 Gen 1 or higher is recommended.
The Pro Convert AES67 and Pro Convert Audio DX are specifically designed for AES67 audio-over-IP conversion. Other Magewell devices handle embedded audio within the video signal — for dedicated Dante integration, consult our technical team for the appropriate solution.
All Magewell products sold through iView Data carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. This covers manufacturing defects and component failure under normal operating conditions. Physical damage, liquid ingress and misuse are not covered.
