The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI TX is the entry-level HDMI NDI encoder in the Pro Convert family — delivering cost-effective, reliable HDMI-to-NDI conversion for installations where a dedicated, fixed-direction encoder is all that is required. Converting a single HDMI 1.4 source at up to 2048×1200 at 60fps into a Full NDI High Bandwidth stream, it brings any HDMI camera, presentation output, AV source or computer display onto a standard Gigabit Ethernet network as an immediately discoverable NDI source — without loop-through, without switching modes and without the additional cost of the Plus model features that many straightforward installations simply do not need. - HDMI to Full NDI Encoding: Converts any HDMI 1.4 or DVI-D source at up to 2048×1200 (WQXGA) at 60fps into a Full NDI High Bandwidth stream — making any HDMI camera, laptop, presentation system or AV source immediately discoverable on the network by all NDI-enabled production software, monitors and devices.
- 8-Channel HDMI Audio: Captures up to 8 channels of HDMI-embedded audio and encodes them as 8-channel NDI-embedded audio — preserving the full audio payload of HDMI sources in the NDI stream without channel reduction or downmixing.
- Flexible NDI Output Resolution: Encodes at the native input resolution or any custom resolution, with output frame rates at full, half, third or quarter of the input — enabling reduced-bandwidth NDI streams for preview or monitoring alongside full-quality programme outputs as required.
- FPGA Video Processing: Onboard FPGA handles deinterlacing, up/down scaling, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio conversion and EDID management entirely in hardware — with zero CPU overhead on any connected host and consistent deterministic low latency.
- Custom EDID Support: EDID configurable via the web GUI — enabling the device to negotiate any specific resolution and format from the connected HDMI source, overriding default display negotiation for precise signal control.
- PTZ Camera Control: Controls PTZ cameras over the network via VISCA, Visca UDP, Visca UDP2RS232, PELCO-P and PELCO-D through the shared Mini-DIN 8 port — enabling complete remote PTZ camera operation alongside HDMI NDI encoding from a single PoE connection.
- Programme & Preview Tally: Dedicated programme (red) and preview (green) tally LEDs on the device, with tally signals via the Mini-DIN 8 port for on-camera tally lights — tally light accessory included in the box for immediate deployment.
- NDI 6.2 Support: Updated to NDI SDK 6.2 — fully compatible with current NDI production infrastructure, Control Hub management and network discovery.
