The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus is the flagship HDMI NDI encoder in the Pro Convert family. It is also the only model that captures a full 4096×2160 (DCI 4K) HDMI 2.0 source at 60fps 4:4:4. Moreover, it encodes it as a Full NDI High Bandwidth stream at the same native resolution and frame rate. Meanwhile, it simultaneously passes the complete signal through a dedicated HDMI loop-through output.
Where the HDMI Plus handles sources up to 4K at 30fps 4:2:0, the HDMI 4K Plus accepts the full 4K60 4:4:4 signal available from the latest broadcast cameras, production switchers, server playout systems and high-end HDMI 2.0 sources. - 4K60 HDMI 2.0 Capture — Full 4:4:4 Colour: Accepts HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4/DVI-D sources at up to 4096×2160 at 60fps with full 4:4:4 8-bit colour — the highest input specification of any standalone HDMI NDI encoder in the Pro Convert range. Custom EDID configurable via the web GUI for precise source negotiation.
- HDMI Loop-Through Output: Dedicated HDMI loop-through passes the complete 4K60 input signal simultaneously with NDI encoding — feeding a 4K monitor, downstream display, video wall or production equipment without signal interruption, degradation or any additional splitter hardware.
- Full NDI High Bandwidth 4K60 Encoding: Encodes the HDMI input as Full NDI High Bandwidth at up to 4096×2160 60fps 4:2:2 8-bit — or at up to 1920×1080 240fps for ultra-high frame rate workflows. - 8-Channel HDMI Audio: Captures all 8 channels of HDMI-embedded audio at up to 192kHz and encodes them as 8-channel NDI-embedded audio — preserving the full multi-channel audio payload of high-end HDMI sources including surround and immersive audio configurations.
- FPGA 4K Video Processing: Onboard FPGA processes the full 4K60 signal for deinterlacing, up/down scaling, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio conversion and EDID management entirely in hardware — with zero CPU overhead on any connected host system and consistent deterministic latency at 4K.
- Flexible NDI Output Resolution: Encodes at the native 4K60 input or any custom resolution and frame rate — enabling simultaneous full-quality 4K60 programme streams and reduced-bandwidth HD or preview streams from the same HDMI 2.0 source.
- PTZ Camera Control: Controls PTZ cameras over the network via VISCA, Visca UDP, Visca UDP2RS232, PELCO-P and PELCO-D through the shared Mini-DIN 8 port — enabling complete remote 4K PTZ camera operation alongside NDI encoding from a single PoE connection.
- Programme & Preview Tally: Dedicated programme (red) and preview (green) tally LEDs on the device, with tally signals via Mini-DIN 8 for on-camera tally lights — tally light accessory included in the box for immediate deployment.
