The Magewell Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus is a single-channel 6G-SDI to Full NDI encoder with SDI loop-through. It is the 4K-capable step up from the Pro Convert SDI Plus in the Pro Convert family.
Where the SDI Plus handles 3G-SDI sources up to 1080p60, the SDI 4K Plus accepts 6G-SDI inputs at up to 4096×2160 at 30fps. It then encodes them as Full NDI High Bandwidth streams at up to 4096×2160 at 60fps. Therefore, it is the right choice for any deployment where a 4K SDI source needs to enter an NDI production workflow. Additionally, it provides simultaneous local loop-through monitoring.
PoE powered, camera-mountable, PTZ-controllable and tally-equipped, it maintains the entire Pro Convert Plus feature set. At the same time, it adds the 4K SDI capability that larger broadcast and live production installations demand.

- 6G-SDI to Full NDI 4K Encoding: Accepts single-link 6G-SDI sources at up to 4096×2160 (DCI 4K) at 30fps — and encodes them as Full NDI High Bandwidth streams at up to 4096×2160 60fps 4:2:2 8-bit, upconverting frame rate as required via the onboard FPGA processing engine.
- SDI Loop-Through Output: A dedicated BNC SDI loop-through passes the full input signal simultaneously with NDI encoding — feeding a 4K monitor, downstream SDI router or recording device without any signal interruption, degradation or additional hardware.
- 16-Channel SDI Audio: Captures all 16 channels of SDI-embedded audio and encodes them as 16-channel NDI-embedded audio — preserving the complete audio payload of 4K SDI broadcast sources including multi-group audio configurations.
- Broad SDI Standard Support: Accepts SD, HD, 3G and 6G-SDI standards (ST 259, ST 292, ST 425, ST 2081) with automatic format detection — compatible with both current 4K 6G-SDI infrastructure and legacy SD/HD SDI cameras and sources.
- FPGA Video Processing: Onboard FPGA handles deinterlacing, up/down scaling, frame rate conversion and aspect ratio adjustment entirely in hardware — enabling the 4K30 SDI input to be encoded as a 4K60 NDI stream with zero CPU overhead on any connected host.
- Flexible NDI Output Resolution: Encodes at the native input resolution or any custom resolution, with output frame rates at full, half, third or quarter of the input — enabling simultaneous full-quality 4K programme streams and reduced-bandwidth HD or preview streams from the same source.
- PTZ Camera Control: Controls PTZ cameras over the network via VISCA, Visca UDP, Visca UDP2RS232, PELCO-P and PELCO-D through the shared Mini-DIN 8 port — enabling complete remote camera control alongside 4K NDI encoding from a single PoE device.
- Programme & Preview Tally: Dedicated programme (red) and preview (green) tally LEDs on the device, with tally signals via the Mini-DIN 8 port for connection to on-camera tally lights. Tally light accessory included in the box.
