Ultra Encode HDMI Plus

The Magewell Ultra Encode HDMI Plus is a professional standalone live streaming, IP production and recording encoder that sits in the middle of the Ultra Encode family — combining the compact, camera-mountable form factor of the entry-level HDMI model with the 4K encoding, NDI HX3, 32Mbps bitrate, PoE+ power, SD card recording and six-destination simultaneous streaming of the flagship Ultra Encode AIO. Accepting HDMI 1.4a and DVI-D sources at up to 4096×2160 30fps, it encodes to RTMP, RTMPS, SRT, RTSP, RTP, HLS, NDI HX2, NDI HX3 and TVU ISSP simultaneously — a breadth of protocol coverage matched only by the SDI Plus model in the Ultra Encode range. Launched at ISE 2024, it fills the gap between the entry encoders and the flagship AIO for broadcast facilities, houses of worship, live events and corporate AV installations that need 4K encoding, NDI HX3 and higher bitrates in a PoE-powered, camera-mountable device without paying for the full AIO feature set. • 4K HDMI Encoding at 32Mbps: Encodes HDMI 1.4a sources at up to 4096×2160 30fps in H.264 or H.265 at up to 32Mbps — double the maximum bitrate of the entry Ultra Encode HDMI, delivering the higher quality required for 4K contribution, broadcast streaming and NDI HX3 production workflows.
• NDI HX2 & NDI HX3 — IP Production Grade: Encodes the HDMI input as NDI HX2 or NDI HX3 at up to 62Mbps — enabling bandwidth-efficient high-quality NDI distribution over Gigabit Ethernet to NDI-enabled production switchers, monitors and software, alongside simultaneous conventional streaming destinations.
• Six Simultaneous Streaming Destinations: Streams to up to six destinations simultaneously — including RTMP, RTMPS, SRT, RTSP, RTP, HLS, NDI HX2/HX3, RTSP/SRT Listener, HLS server and TVU ISSP — delivering the broadest simultaneous streaming capability in a compact standalone encoder outside the flagship AIO.
• PoE+ Powered — IEEE 802.3at: Powered entirely via PoE+ from a standard PoE+ switch — no mains power adapter required at the installation point. A single Ethernet cable carries both the high-bandwidth 4K NDI HX3 stream and device power, enabling clean camera-adjacent and ceiling-mounted deployments.
• HDMI Loop-Through Output: Dedicated HDMI loop-through passes the full input signal simultaneously with encoding — maintaining the existing HDMI monitor connection, local display or downstream device without interruption or additional hardware.
• Dual Stream Encoding with 4K Main: Encodes a 4K main stream and a simultaneous lower-resolution sub stream — each with fully independent codec, resolution, frame rate and bitrate settings. Deliver a 4K30 NDI HX3 stream to production while simultaneously streaming 1080p60 to YouTube Live.
• Image Rotation, Cropping & 3D Video: Configurable 0°/90°/180°/270° image rotation, cropping and 3D video output — enabling encoder-side image correction for ceiling-mounted cameras, non-standard installation angles and stereoscopic production workflows.
• USB & SD Card Recording: Records encoded streams simultaneously to a USB flash drive and an SD card — providing dual local recording paths as programme backup, archive and post-production source material alongside live streaming.
