The Magewell USB Capture DVI Plus is a professional single-channel USB 3.0 capture device built specifically for DVI signal sources — the capture solution of choice for medical imaging workstations, financial trading terminals, industrial displays and legacy AV installations where DVI remains the primary or only output interface. Accepting DVI 1.0 directly on its DVI-I input with a dedicated DVI loop-through output, it also accepts HDMI 1.4a via the included breakout cable, and extends further to VGA and Component via the included adapters — all in a compact, bus-powered dongle that connects to any Windows, Mac, Linux or Chrome OS computer with no drivers and no external power. With onboard FPGA processing handling scaling, de-interlacing, aspect ratio conversion and colour format conversion entirely off the host CPU, and 3.5mm analogue audio in and out for complete audio capture alongside video, the USB Capture DVI Plus delivers reliable, flexible DVI capture wherever it is needed. • DVI Input with DVI Loop-Through — Insert Into Any DVI Signal Chain: The DVI-I input accepts DVI 1.0 signals directly, and the dedicated DVI loop-through output passes the source signal simultaneously to a local monitor or downstream display — inserting the capture device into the existing DVI chain without interrupting it, without a splitter and without any impact on the downstream display.
• HDMI, VGA & Component via Included Adapters: The DVI-I port accepts HDMI 1.4a via the included DVI-I to HDMI + Component breakout cable, and VGA via the included DVI-to-VGA connector — making the device useful wherever a source outputs DVI, HDMI or analogue video, without needing separate capture hardware for each.
• Up to 2048×2160 Capture at 120fps: The 160 Mpixels/s onboard FPGA processing pipeline delivers capture at resolutions up to 2048×2160 at up to 120fps — with all scaling, cropping, de-interlacing, aspect ratio conversion, colour format conversion, frame rate conversion, flip and mirror processed entirely on the device, consuming zero host CPU.
• Custom EDID Support: Configurable EDID enables the device to negotiate the precise resolution and signal format required by the capture software from any DVI or HDMI source — critical in medical and industrial environments where the source output format must be exactly controlled and cannot be left to auto-negotiation.
• 12-bit ADC for VGA & Component: The 12-bit analogue-to-digital converter handles RGB and YCbCr colour formats with separated sync, composite sync, sync-on-green and sync-on-luminance support — covering DMT, CEA, CVT, GTF and custom CVT/GTF video timings up to 165MHz pixel rate at 1:1 sampling.
• 3.5mm Analogue Audio In & Out: Captures analogue audio via 3.5mm microphone/line input alongside video, and outputs captured HDMI embedded audio or host computer playback audio via the 3.5mm line output — functioning as a complete USB audio card without any additional hardware.
