The brand new Pro Convert IP to HDMI — launched at ISE 2026 — is Magewell's most versatile IP decoder yet. Decode up to four simultaneous IP streams into a single QHD HDMI output with an integrated multiviewer. This guide covers every application sector, use case, protocol and deployment scenario for UK integrators, broadcasters and AV professionals.
⏱ 9 minute readLaunched at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, the Magewell Pro Convert IP to HDMI is the first product in Magewell's new generation of multi-format IP decoders — and a significant step forward from the widely-deployed Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI it succeeds. Where the previous generation decoded a single NDI stream to HDMI output, this new device decodes up to four simultaneous IP streams from multiple protocols, displaying them on a single QHD HDMI output using a built-in multiviewer.
As the authorised UK Magewell distributor, iView Data supplies the Pro Convert IP to HDMI to integrators, broadcasters and AV professionals across the UK. This is one of the most application-versatile products in the Magewell range — equally at home in a broadcast master control room, a university lecture hall, a hospital command centre or a house of worship.
The defining capability of the Pro Convert IP to HDMI is its built-in multiviewer — the ability to decode multiple IP streams simultaneously and display them in a single HDMI output without any additional hardware. This eliminates the need for a separate multiviewer appliance, a PC-based software multiviewer, or a dedicated video wall processor for many monitoring applications.
One full-screen stream at up to 2560×1440p60. Maximum quality, full display area.
Two streams side-by-side, each up to 1080p60. Ideal for A/B monitoring or comparison.
Main stream full-screen with a secondary stream overlaid. Two streams, one output.
Four streams simultaneously in a 2×2 grid, each up to 1080p60. Full multi-source monitoring.
The multiviewer operates without any PC, software licence or additional hardware. The layout is selected through the device's web GUI or via the onboard rotary dial — making it genuinely accessible to non-technical operators once configured. For quad-view monitoring of four simultaneous H.264/H.265 streams at up to 1080p60, no separate multiviewer purchase is needed.
The Pro Convert IP to HDMI supports a broader range of IP protocols than any previous Pro Convert decoder. This is central to its value — a single device can decode sources from NDI cameras, SRT encoders, internet streams, CCTV systems and managed network delivery platforms simultaneously.
The addition of Zixi support is a notable new capability for the Pro Convert family. Zixi is a managed protocol widely used by broadcasters and CDN operators for secure, low-latency contribution over the public internet with forward error correction and bonding. Previously, receiving Zixi streams required dedicated Zixi hardware or software. The Pro Convert IP to HDMI now accepts Zixi streams natively — making it a viable decode endpoint for managed broadcast contribution workflows without additional cost or complexity.
In broadcast master control environments, confidence monitoring of multiple simultaneous signals on a single display is a fundamental operational requirement. Traditionally this requires a dedicated hardware multiviewer — a costly, rack-consuming appliance. The Pro Convert IP to HDMI delivers four-stream IP monitoring to any HDMI monitor at a fraction of the cost, with no additional hardware. Programme feeds, contribution streams, play-out channels and remote location feeds can all be monitored simultaneously in quad-view.
Image magnification (IMAG) systems at conferences, live events and concerts require reliable, low-latency display of camera feeds on large screens. The Pro Convert IP to HDMI accepts NDI camera feeds over a standard network switch and outputs to any HDMI projector or display — replacing expensive SDI infrastructure with IP cabling while maintaining the broadcast-quality output required for large-scale live events. The PoE power option means the device can be deployed anywhere near a network drop, without requiring a separate power run.
For remote production workflows where camera operators or reporters in the field are contributing via SRT over the public internet or bonded cellular, the Pro Convert IP to HDMI provides a clean decode-to-HDMI output at the studio end. The device handles the SRT stream directly — no PC or software decoder required — outputting to any HDMI monitor or feed into the studio router. Combined with Zixi support, this makes it a viable endpoint for managed broadcast contribution from any global location.
Any organisation running IP-delivered content — whether streamed from a cloud CDN, a local media server or an in-house NDI production system — can use the Pro Convert IP to HDMI to drive HDMI displays directly. The device accepts HLS and RTMP streams natively, meaning content from platforms like YouTube Live, internal video platforms or cloud signage services can be decoded and displayed on any HDMI screen without a media player PC. This is particularly valuable in environments where maintaining and updating PC-based players is operationally challenging — retail, hospitality, healthcare waiting rooms and transport hubs.
IP CCTV cameras and VMS (Video Management Systems) that output RTSP or RTMP streams can be decoded directly by the Pro Convert IP to HDMI. In security control rooms where operators need to monitor multiple camera feeds on a single display, the quad-view multiviewer eliminates the need for a separate NVR-based monitor output or PC-based viewer — streams are decoded directly to HDMI and displayed in a clean 2×2 grid. This is a particularly cost-effective solution for smaller security monitoring environments where a full video wall controller is not justified.
In universities and training facilities, lecture streams encoded as NDI or SRT from lecture capture systems, PTZ cameras or software encoders can be decoded and displayed on room screens or monitors throughout a facility — without cabling back to a central switch room. Each room simply needs a network connection and power, with the Pro Convert IP to HDMI providing the HDMI output to the room display. Multiple rooms can simultaneously receive different streams from the same network, with each device independently configured via the web GUI.
Master control monitoring, remote contribution decode, programme confidence displays and IP-based production environments.

A key hardware improvement over the previous generation is the addition of a rotary control dial on the device itself. This allows operators to navigate menus, switch sources and adjust settings without needing to access the web GUI — particularly valuable in live event environments where a laptop may not be available at the display location. The improved web interface provides real-time video preview (via live stream or MJPEG thumbnail) directly in the browser, making remote monitoring and troubleshooting substantially easier.
Like all current Magewell IP devices, the Pro Convert IP to HDMI registers with Magewell Control Hub for centralised management of multiple devices across one or more locations. For organisations deploying multiple decoders across a campus, broadcast facility or multi-site estate, Control Hub provides a single browser-based interface to configure, monitor and manage every device without visiting each one individually. This dramatically reduces operational overhead in large-scale IP distribution deployments.
For high-density environments where multiple decoders are required in a rack — broadcast facilities, university central equipment rooms, corporate data centres — the Pro Convert IP to HDMI is also available as a Modator module. The Modator 2U chassis accommodates up to 10 hot-swappable modules, providing a scalable, rack-native approach to IP decoding that eliminates multiple standalone units. This is the preferred deployment architecture for large broadcast and integration projects.
